Yi shin nor bu
Yi shin nor bu
Dey pay lu chung nyen mo di
Tö kyi nga ri kor sum ney
Khye la kur way söl deb yin
Thuk je chin lab juk par shok
Yi shin nor bu

Wish-fulfilling jewel!
Oh Wish-fulfilling jewel!
This small and pleasant song of faith
From the three provinces of upper Ngari,
Is the prayer I send to you.
May we receive your compassionate blessings.
Oh Wish-fulfilling jewel!

Yi shin nor bu
Yi shin nor bu
Dung sab mö gyang bhö di
Bar gyi ü tsang rub shi ney
Khye la phül way leg kye yin
Shel rey nyur du jel war shok
Yi shin nor bu

Wish-fulfilling jewel!
Oh Wish-fulfilling jewel!
This distant cry of deep love
From the four ranges of Central Tibet,
Is the tribute that I offer to you.
May we meet you in person soon!
Oh Wish-fulfilling jewel!

Yi shin nor bu
Yi shin nor bu
Gyur mey pay dam cha di
Mey kyi do kham gang druk ney
Khye la phül way shab ten yin
Ku tshe dor je drak tar shok
Yi shin nor bu

Wish-fulfilling jewel!
Oh Wish-fulfilling jewel!
This unchanging vow
From the six districts of eastern Amdo and Kham,
Is a prayer I offer for the stability of your life.
May your life be like the vajra rock!
Oh Wish-fulfilling jewel!

Note: As many of you may already know, the term
ཡིད་བཞིན་ནོར་བུ་ "yishin norbu" which literally means a "wish-fulfilling jewel" is one of the many beautiful names Tibetans have for H.H. the Dalai Lama. It refers to a mythical jewel which has the ability to grant any desire one may have. Within Tibetan Buddhism, one's spiritual teacher and/or the teachings of the Buddha are often said to be even more precious than such a magical gem. So such a name for His Holiness is highly honorofic. Also, there is a phrase is in here which is interesting is ཞབས་བརྟན་ "shabten" which literally means "foot firming" but here refers to a prayer for the long life of His Holiness. Additionally, the term རྡོ་རྗེ་ "dorje", which in sanskrit is called a "vajra", refers to an indestructible diamond or rock.
