Notes:
Here is a really pleasant tune singing praises of the Minyak region in Kham. I got a chance to spend a few days in this area visiting a friend last summer and thus wanted to translate this song as a sort of homage. Not only that but it is just simply an outright joyful little song. The primary difficulty in translating this one was the ས་སྐྱིད་པོ་གཅིག་དང་སྐྱིད་པོ་གཉིས། This seems easy enough but I was really at a lost for how to translate the གཅིག and  གཉིས. There seem to be a lot of workable possibilities. This is also something that comes up in a large number of songs, yet I haven't found a systematic way to translate it. First I thought that it perhaps resembled English songs ("Microphone check one two one two..."). I discussed this issue with Sherab several times and he suggested that it could be "one after another." This seems to make sense and this is how I left it in this song. Anyways, I wish you pleasurable listenings to mellow melodies of Minyak.
