Notes:
I chose this wonderful song to translate because, first off, it is such a mellow tune. I generally do not go for the traditional songs as much as I do the modern stuff. However, this one is so gentle and pleasant I simply could not help myself. Secondly, as is true of most traditional songs, the lyrics are meaningful, touching and, in the case of this song, they are simple and straightforward.
I had fun translating this by playing around with the form of the translation itself. For example, the "I wish to/will go" at the end of the first and second stanzas can form a stand-alone sentence with what comes before or after it - or both. This in addition to the endings all repeating/rhyming gives it a nice flow.
