Notes: When I first watched this music video, I was surprised to see images from the Southwest University for Nationalities (which houses Gene Smith's collection) in Chengdu. Having just been there the previous summer I just had to translate this song. I also added the transliteration in roman letters. This was my first time doing so and I'm not terribly familiar with all the different convetions out there. However, in that process I noticed that the verse are not in a strict meter. Interesting to note indeed. I suppose you can make up for missing or additional syllable in song. It seemed like most were seven syllables so I tried to group them in pairs of two, leaving a single syllable and the end. Also, I typed out the lyrics as the appeared in the video (including the missing ། ). Please forgive me (and whoever's job it is to do that in all the videos!)
