Note: This reference throughout the song of the "Lord of snow" (ཁ་བའི་བདག་པོ) is most certainly referring to His Holiness the Dalai Lama--pseudonyms for His Holiness are often used in Tibetan songs to avoid trouble with the Chinese government which routinely jails anyone for openly praising his name, another famous example being "Akhu Pema" which means "Uncle Lotus Blossom." You can also notice that in the song each verse contains a "one" and a "two"; Tibetans commonly employ enumeration in their literature and it does not always translate well into English, but I felt in this song that the idea of there being "two" in each case was fairly relevant and decided to work it into the translation. Also, just a couple of general yet interesting things to note about Tibetan phrasings that are in this song: the term ཁ་བ་ཅན (Khawa chen) is usually translated as "Snowland" but literally means: "That which possesses snow"; additionally, the phrase རླུང་རྟ་ (Lung ta) literally means "Wind horse" but here refers to "Good luck" or "Good fortune"--if you've ever seen Tibetan prayer flags, you can look for the pictures of the wind horse, and in fact prayer flags are called lung ta in Tibetan, wind horses which spread good fortune.
